The Entrepreneurial Spirt of Immigrants

I was fascinated by this article on why immigrants make such good entrepreneurs that I recently found in the Wall Street Journal. The energy and outsider’s perspective of immigrants, coupled with their resilience in dealing with the inevitable challenges of immigration, seem to be important characteristics for successful entrepreneurs.

The author notes that “seeing with fresh eyes” is key for immigrants to find new business opportunities. And because they’re learning a new land and language, immigrants often develop a different perspective that native’s wouldn’t otherwise see.

The author further hypothesizes that because there are many immigrants who are entrepreneurial, they often develop relationships with each other and learn from one another, giving them a helpful step in the right direction when it comes to building successful businesses.
